About Partnership Projects

YDance works through key partnerships in education, culture, health and sport, to provide high quality dance experiences for all children and young people in Scotland. Our partners have a wealth of expertise and local knowledge, and we believe that by working together we can reach more young people help them to achieve more through dance.

Currently we are working in partnerships with Barnardo’s, the Scottish Prison Service, North Ayrshire Council & Active Schools and Rosemount Lifelong Learning to reach and engage young people from a variety of different backgrounds, including those from areas of deprivation, young parents and their children, and those currently in the criminal justice system.

Some of our previous partnership projects have been delivered with the support of: Rathbone UK, Quarriers, Project Ability and a wide range of Active Schools and Community Learning and Development teams across Scotland.

Our current partnership projects are:

CashBack for Change

CashBack for Change uses dance and theatre as a tool to engage and positively influence young people aged 10 -21 who are most at risk of displaying anti-social behaviours and/or entering the criminal justice system. The project targets young people living in areas of high deprivation and crime, those not engaging in mainstream education and in alternative education centres, and those already in the criminal justice system at HMP & YOI Polmont.

Me and You

Me and You aims to deliver creative and imaginative movement and play sessions to young parents and their children (under 5). The main aim of the project is to encourage bond and attachment between parent and child.
